Krystina was exhausted when her alarm had gone off. Despite being tired when sheâd gone to bed, she didnât get a lot of sleep. Sheâd tossed and turned most of the night, thinking about how sheâd completely surrendered to Dominic, the man she had vowed to hate. But the thing that sucked the most was that she didnât really hate him. Maybe she never did. Sheâd been a girl without a family among a bunch of strangers. In those first few months after her grandmother had died, Krystina could admit that she was anti-social and angry all the time. She had, after all, gone through a traumatic experience and had lost her closest relative.
But as time passed and she grew closer to her guardian, Krystina had wanted more than anything to fit in and feel like she belonged. She realized then that if she was to become a real member of their family, sheâd have to get into Dominicâs good graces. So whenever heâd come home from school, she made it a point to be as nice as she could to him. But no matter how hard she tried, heâd rebuffed her every step of the way. She finally got the hint when heâd uttered those words that she took to heart. You will never belong.
That had been the turning point for her where Dominic was concerned. But even when she thought she hated him, she never really did. And now she was in this predicament. She wasnât the type of person to go in for casual sex. All three of her previous lovers were men sheâd had some type of feelings for. Her first lover was in college. Jeremiah was an aspiring spoken word artist with dreadlocks down his back and beautiful caramel eyes. Heâd been a gentle lover and he was the first guy she thought herself to be in love with. Theyâd been together for nearly a year when Jeremiah decided he needed space. Krystina had been heartbroken but sheâd moved on.
Though sheâd dated here and there throughout college, she didnât have another serious boyfriend until her first trip to Paris where she met Francois. He owned a coffee shop sheâd frequented. Francois was a master with his hands and tongue, but she soon found she wasnât the only girl he was using that tongue on. Her last boyfriend was Kevin. A South African native sheâd done volunteer work with. Kevin had been okay, but looking back, she honestly couldnât remember much about their sexual encounters. Eventually, they both realized they were better off being friends.
Sex was something she could take or leave, before now. Dominic had done things to her that sheâd only ever read in dirty books. Her encounters with Jeremiah, Francois and Kevin hadnât prepared her for Dominic, who seemed to know all the spots to hit to make her body sing with desire. No one had made her ache quite the way he did. Something about the way he took her when they were intimate, turned Krystina on.
